I've created this site just to share some images of Detroit with my friends and also to raise awareness about the current state of this crumbling, grand city. I want to emphasize that I love Detroit and have nothing but respect for the people of Detroit who are fighting to preserve their city and make life livable despite the poverty, neglect, and unemployment, and flailing government in the city. Detroit deserves attention for it's amazing architecture and history as the birthplace of the automotive industry, as well as the home of the world-loved Motown sound and the generous and enterprising spirit of it's people.

Some of these pictures were taken by me, some by friends, others taken from websites, of which there is no shortage dedicated to the scenes of Detroit's fading glory. The ruins of Detroit parallel those of ancient cities in their grandeur and monolithic quality. Some examples:
